Justin A. Roberts
Justin Joined Lustgarten & Roberts in the fall of 2006 as a law clerk while attending Creighton University School of Law. He graduated and received his Juris Doctor in May of 2009. Justin was sworn into the Nebraska Bar and the US District Court of Nebraska in September 2009. Justin is a member of the Omaha Bar Association and the Nebraska State Bar association. Justin is an experienced trial attorney and has argued cases before the Nebraska Court of Appeals, the Nebraska Supreme Court and the United States Bankruptcy Court for Nebraska. Justin has authored a number of briefs in support of arguments made to the County Courts, District Courts, Nebraska Court of Appeals and the Nebraska Supreme Court on behalf of the firm.
Justin was born and raised in Omaha NE. He attended Millard North High School and participated as varsity pitcher for the baseball team, and varsity policy debater. Justin subsequently earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and attended the Creighton University School of Law.
Justin practices Family Law as well as substantial representation of Credit Unions and Lenders. Justin stays in regular contact with his credit union clients. This ongoing working relationship means client’s needs are regularly reviewed and met, often preventing expensive problems from arising in the first place. This approach keeps credit union money where it belongs: with the credit union and its members.
Justin has experience advocating for clients in bankruptcy-related litigation matters, including avoidance actions, objections to discharge, dischargeability actions, preference claims, subordination claims, equitable recharacterization claims, plan confirmation objections, relief from stay motions, §503(b)(9) administrative expense claims, and other disputes under the Bankruptcy Code. In addition, Justin regularly represents clients in breach of contract cases, actions under guarantees, replevin actions and fraudulent transfer claims.
Justin regularly draws upon the experience of other attorneys in our firm. Lustgarten & Roberts has a combined 80 years of experience representing credit unions.
